In-Home House Visits

The consulting and decorating service lasts approximately 3-5 hours. We will meet with you at your house at the scheduled time, talk to you in detail about what you would like to accomplish, look at the space to become familiar with it, and make a basic plan for what to bring back from the store. This should take about 1/2-1 hour.

We will then go back to the store with you and choose pieces you like, and ones that we suggest, and bring them to your home. This part of the consultation lasts 2-4 hours. What you like, you keep and pay for that day. What you don't like, we bring back. It is important to have everyone who needs to be part of the decision making process there at the time because we can not leave merchandise over-night without it being paid for, and since you are able to see the items in your home, the products purchased are not returnable.

What to plan for:

  • Set aside about 3-5 hours of time, depending on what you plan to have us do that day. (Completing a room grouping from furniture to the last detail could be longer than 5 hours.)

  • If you have small children, consider a babysitter for that period of time, you will need to concentrate and make decisions on the pieces we place in your home that day, so you will want to devote your full attention.

  • To make the most of your time, and to use our service to its fullest advantage, budget for the most you would want to spend BEFORE scheduling your consultation. This way you can save ahead of time, and are not disappointed when what we bring is out of your price range.

Budget Example:

To help you budget, keep in mind what you will want to accomplish in the space. If for instance, you are decorating a kitchen/family room area, where you have a sofa, one chair and an entertainment center. You could expect that we would plan for coffee and end tables, possibly a sofa table and a few pictures, a couple lamps and several accessories. This would be an average consultation, and the cost of the merchandise usually ranges from $2,000 to $5,000. There are, of course, higher and lower amounts you can spend but this gives you a ball park to plan for.

How To Pay For Purchases:

Purchases can be paid for just like in the store by cash, check, or charge and we also offer financing through American General, which needs to be applied for BEFORE the day of the appointment. Please fill out House Visit Form prior to your house visit.

If you don't find something that will go with your decor, then Patricia will be happy to work with you to come up with something that will.
